May Day Model Worker Interview on 28 Mar 08

I got this email from my colleagues that each of us had to be in charge of interviewing nominees for the May Day Model worker (MDMW) and we were to arrange interview and write out the report within 3 days of their email! :P

The advice was to partner with 1 other colleague so that someone could take notes while you were doing the interview but as time was very tight and the nominee's time and location of their office were quite far from each other, in the end we had to spilt ways.

I ended up going to Changi Airport to interview Mr Sugu, a model worker nominated by CIAS. As all (if not most) of my friends know, I'm hopeless when it comes to directions and locating places so I got the HR to give me really precise instructions on how to get to their office (bc Changi airport is really big rite?). In the end, the office was quite easy to find after all with all the precise instructions. :)

I waited for a while before Mr Sugu got off his duty and sat in the office while people bustled around me printing reports of flights etc, really interesting experience. :) When the interview started, both the nominee and me were nervous but I just tried my best to chat with him and get whatever info I could(again, not an easy task for someone who doesn't like to speak with strangers haha..) In the end, I was lucky that Mr Sugu managed to open up and provide lots of interesting stories about himself.

End note: I managed to submit my interview report in time and am happy to declare that he did get the MDMW award together with 207 other workers. :)

CJ7 Qi Zai is here!!

It felt like eons ago (specifically after the Chinese New Year) that I was still complaining to Bee how come the CJ7 toy was not being sold in Singapore when it was being sold in Taiwan. I nearly gave up thinking I could get the toy here when I saw the soft toy at my colleague's cubicle last week. "Oh my God! Where did u get this?" Mini toons? Must go and see asap! So this is how your friend went to Causeway Point on Good Friday and bought all these CJ7 toys which you can see here..haha..I think my favourite is the big CJ7 or the one which ran out of battery (it is not dead as the mini toon person said :P) so cute rite? Buay tahan... ;)

p.s. those who are thinking of getting these - try to borrow the mini toons card (which has 15% discount) rather than buy from Action City (which has no discount)..oops, I hope there's no Action City fan out there reading this blog..

KTV with EDB gals

Yesterday night went karaoke with some of the EDB gals - went there late bc of work so caught a cab (which cost me nearly $10 even though only from Raffles place to Orchard) bc of the stupid CBD $3 surcharge. :P We had quite a fun time and sang a lot of songs together. I also brought my camera along and took some photos + videos of the gals singing (you can see who are the born performers haha..). Definitely hope we can have more of these outings or gatherings in the future..esp since I can't be meeting the gals for lunch anymore after moving to Redhill.

My New Camera!

The IT Fair which I was waiting for started on 6 March so managed to get Aiwah to accompany me to buy my camera. Wanted to buy a camera for myself since last year so have been asking all my friends to give me Capita Land vouchers for my birthday and Christmas - bc can use at Funan IT mall ma..I managed to get a total of $315 worth of vouchers so was v happy :)

So on 6 Mar, Aiwah went to see the cameras 1st bc I was late and we met in one of the shops where she saw some nice camera models. In the end I decided on the Sony T70 camera (pink colour of course haha..). There was a bit of discount due to the IT Fair promotion and we also bargained for some discounts on the casing so I returned home a happy gal.

Of course, the next thing I did was to read thru the manuals and try out my camera after the batteries were charged. It has quite a lot of functions but I'll probably stick to the normal ones bc I'm not so tech savvy haha..so those of you who are meeting me for next few weeks dun be surprised to see my whipping out my camera to take photos or videos haha.. ;)
